RECOGNITIONS

U.S. Congresswoman Kay Granger

U.S. Congresswoman Kay Granger has represented the 12th Congressional District of Texas since 1997. When she's not in Washington, Congresswoman Granger spends her time connecting with constituents and learning about community initiatives. Congresswoman Granger proudly supports Texas Blossoms and has previously written about the non-profit in her newsletter to increase community awareness. To show our gratitude, Texas Blossoms created the "Kay Granger Award for Outstanding Community Service," which is annually awarded to an exceptional volunteer or community member who has made a positive impact on Texas Blossoms and the local community.

Mary Louise Michie Arboreal Award of Excellence

Mary Louise Michie was the former President (1971-1972) and Garden Club President (1995-1997) of the Fort Worth Garden Club. Under her stewardship, over 100 million trees were planted across the United States, Mexico, and Latin America. The Mary Louise Michie Arboreal Award of Excellence recognizes groups which plant or care for trees. Texas Blossoms was proud to accept this award in 2019. Our District’s dedication to community service drives Texas Blossoms’ success... and the thousands of trees in our community planted by Texas Blossoms benefit our District environmentally and economically.
